“Character consists of what you do on the third and fourth tries.” ―James A. Michener When it comes to success, our perception is diverse. This may be as a result of personal experiences or beliefs. However, something that is common to success and successful people is…Perseverance. Research has found that one of the most powerful reasons for failure for a lot of people is simply calling it quits too early. As a result, there are so many people living with all sorts of regrets around the world today. The fact that they have tried very hard to correct their past has made life even more unbearable for them. They never felt good enough, accomplished enough or even worth any form of accolade for anything whatsoever. I have news for you, you may not be in the place you use to be. You may not be where you know you deserve; however, my friend be grateful, knowing that there is a better place is actually a sign that you are ready to MOVE. While I do not believe that our experience is the best teacher, I strongly believe God’s word is. Our experience does form character. They shape and modify our behavioral pattern. It may have been good or bad; they ultimately teach us something. Experiences also help sharpen our skills set in areas of our lives where formal education may not really be useful. Thus, don’t loathe your experiences they would come in handy in your life at some point. A good soccer coach would mostly prefer a well-trained footballer with years of experience when deciding in making a selection for a major game. Don’t forget that the coach himself, was at some point a player. I don’t glorify FAILURE! But I know that everyone’s life’s journey is different. What you call a failure could very well be an early stage of success. You are not a failure simply because you failed. You are when you accept it as a NORM. Often times people focus on the origin and destination; what I have found to be the most important has been the journey itself. Your story; that’s something no one can take away from you. You see, instead of giving up and giving in; choose to see right; choose to see that there is more to whatever circumstance you find yourself today. Your glorious future awaits; you are not FINISHED! You are not DONE! You are a miracle waiting to happen. It’s time to get up, dress up and go out again; It’s your time to shine like the star God made you!
